Climate Change is Stopping Kids From Going To School?! + Fellowship opportunity with Shram Sarathi!
Policy Post #121
Editor’s Note ✍️
Hi, hope you’re well :)
This week, in one of our PGs we threw light on how climate change is preventing children from accessing schools by fostering yet more divides, causing an increase in health concerns and destroying precious infrastructure - yet another stark reminder of the alarming effects climate change is having on every aspect of our lives.
While these trends are alarming, one thing we can consider doing to make a difference, even if at the margins, is to pursue careers in the broader sustainability and climate policy. On that note, we bring to you an opportunity this week to attend an in-person panel discussion and mixer with a range of experts focused on climate policy in India, in New Delhi on the 24th of September. We also highlight multiple opportunities to work with institutions like TERI, Climate Group and the India Climate Collaborative.
Also in this edition of The Policy Post:
🔹An op-ed on how exemptions to all the Shops Acts in India can cause more harm than good, and the need for revisiting laws that affect India’s nighttime economy.
🔹Our weekly database with 100’s of fresh Jobs and Internships from the broader world of Public Policy and Social Impact that one can apply to.
🔹A capacity building opportunity to help work with marginalised groups across India.
🔹An exciting fellowship opportunity with “Shram Sarathi” to understand the financial lives of migrant workers and positively impact the underprivileged.
🔹Our weekly curation of some of the best essays, podcasts, career resources etc. from the world of Policy in the week gone by.
Do write back to this email with your thoughts/inputs on what more we can do to add value to our community here. Please do consider buying us a coffee and sharing this edition of The Policy Post if it was of value to you :)
With that, we bring to you: Policy Post #121!
