What does a research and legislative associate do?
I conduct policy research, analyse legislation, and draft Parliamentary questions, speeches, and policy briefs. I also provide evidence-based inputs for parliamentary proceedings, committee work, and constituency-related issues.
How can a person pursue a similar career? What skills are required?
Shortlist MPs whose parliamentary committees, policy interests, or constituency priorities align with your background. Keep your CV to 1 or 2 pages and highlight research experience, policy briefs, legislative analysis, drafting skills, and relevant internships.
