India's progress on health-related SDGs is alarming, with over 50% of targets unlikely to be met by 2030. Nearly 75% of districts lag on key indicators like basic services, child nutrition, anaemia, and gender-based violence. Post-pandemic cuts have reduced health spending to under 2% of the budget. Projections suggest access to basic services may take until 2047, and addressing partner violence could extend to 2090.

Healthcare-focused global capability centres (GCCs) face significant gender diversity challenges, with women making up just 28% of the workforce and 15% in R&D roles.
