It's been 10 years of Make In India?! + an exciting fellowship opportunity with CLPR!
Policy Post #127
Editor’s Note ✍️
Hello, hope you’re well :) The ruling NDA government is approaching nearly 10 years in power, which affords an opportunity to analyse how some of their flagship policy initiatives have performed in the decade gone by. One of their core electoral promises was to raise the share of manufacturing in India, and meaningfully grow the employment share of the sector overall, creating millions of jobs along the way. This week, we take a look at the flagship “Make in India” scheme and how that has fared.
Expect many such analyses cutting across sectors in the weeks to come!
In this edition of The Policy Post, we cover:
🔹A detailed look into how the Make in India campaign has worked (or not?) thus far
🔹An op-ed on how social norms play an important role in women’s employment
🔹An exciting fellowship opportunity to work as a “Constitution Defender” with CLPR
🔹Our weekly curation of some of the best essays, podcasts, career resources etc. from the world of Policy in the week gone by
Do write back to this email with your thoughts/inputs on what more we can do to improve on the work that we already do here. Please do consider getting us a coffee and sharing this edition of The Policy Post if it was of value to you :)
With that, we bring to you: Policy Post #127!
