Policy Circle in Bengaluru + 100% Scholarship for MPP @ Kautilya School Of Public Policy
Policy Post #221
Dear Reader,
Technology moves fast. Policy? Not always. But that tension between innovation and governance, between what’s possible and what’s responsible is exactly where some of the most consequential work happens.
This week, we spotlight Kriti Trehan, whose work at the intersection of tech, law, and policy ensures that Global South perspectives stay central to digital governance.
We’re also bringing you The Policy Circle | Bengaluru this Saturday—a free workshop with Dr. Amrendra Pandey from Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP), walking through how one real policy decision actually unfolded. Registrations are open, and yes, we’re doing on-spot sign-ups too.
And because GenAI is reshaping policy work right now, Yash’s masterclass on GenAI, Tech Policy, and Career Pathways (Feb 21) is one you won’t want to miss.
As always, we’ve got databases, resources, and opportunities to help you find your next move.

☕ The Policy Circle | Bengaluru – This Saturday!
We keep hearing the same question: how are public policy decisions actually made?
Public Policy India (PPI), in collaboration with Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP), is hosting The Policy Circle | Bengaluru—a free, in-person, guided workshop with Dr. Amrendra Pandey, Assistant Dean (Research) at KSPP.
This session is about process, not positions. We’ll walk through one real policy decision and unpack how it unfolded inside the system—the parts you don’t read about in white papers.
📅 Date: 7 February (Saturday)
⏰ Time: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
📍 Venue: Koramangala, Bengaluru
💰 Access: Free (coffee’s on us ☕)
Registrations are open, and we’re also accepting on-spot sign-ups—so if you’re around, come through. If you know someone in Bengaluru who’d benefit from this, share the link. Policy conversations are better when more voices are in the room.

India Refocuses Climate Action: Development First, Adaptation Central
India’s Economic Survey 2025–26 reframes climate action as a development-first strategy, placing adaptation, resilience, and human welfare at the centre of policy design. What makes this approach interesting is the underlying rationale: the Survey warns against treating energy transition as a narrow climate exercise, arguing that sustained growth requires affordable, reliable electricity—not just renewable capacity additions.
It’s a useful lens on how climate policy gets shaped by development imperatives and competing priorities when filtered through India’s policy system.
