Why are adoption laws different for all religions in India + an exciting fellowship opportunity with Climate Corps!
Policy Post #126
Editor’s Note ✍️
Hello, hope you’re well :)
The last couple of weeks have seen a flurry of data releases when it comes to the state of the economy in India. TLDR: GST collections performed as expected, inflation is down, services are doing well, and household savings are doing a lot worse. The flare up of tensions in the Middle East will be something to keep an eye on, especially given the outsized impact that global crude oil prices have on the Indian economy.
In this edition of The Policy Post, we cover:
🔹A detailed look into the adoption process in India and how law looks at all religions in separate buckets
🔹An op-ed on carbon offsets and whether they can help combat climate change
🔹An exciting opportunity for graduate students to work in the climate space
🔹Our weekly curation of some of the best essays, podcasts, career resources etc. from the world of Policy in the week gone by
Do write back to this email with your thoughts/inputs on what more we can do to improve on the work that we already do here. Please do consider getting us a coffee and sharing this edition of The Policy Post if it was of value to you :)
With that, we bring to you: Policy Post #126!
